Media Studies Lesson 22/11/11

Today we have started to Build on our blogs adding our 'Evaluation' of our work we have been doing up till now.  We are also brainstorming our ideas for our future assignments. We have created slides from powerpoint about generic conventions regarding our chosen genres. They are now officially up and visible for other bloggers to view.  (Harry & Shaj)

Evaluation of our work

- Planning Target: 

• Be specific with camera shots
• Be specific with ideas
• Colour storyboard to clearly show different characters and different locations (key)
• Make genre clear
• Research on planning skills

- Filming Target

• Be aware of when the camera is recording and not recording
• Be careful of the zoom settings
• Use the tripod appropriately
• Practise footage during free time
• Find devoted actors
• Research on filming techniques

- Editing Target

• Use a variety of tools in final cut (appropriately)
• Make sure you know how to use the tools
• Practise using tools on Final cut during free time
• Research on editing skills

Tomorow we have a double lesson (2hours) of Media. As today we just created the blog , im guessing tomorow we will be working on building up the blog and getting crucial information from our work onto the blog - i will post another blog tomorow during lesson time. In media, I have a particular interest in the diversity of camera shots and enjoy picking which shots will work with what parts of the coursework as they put a whole different perspective to the drama. I also enjoy storyboarding and playing around on final cut so i can learn new things from it.

 Within this media course i am  particularly interested in Having a vision for how a certain scene within a video should look, considering different camera angles. However I have further knowledge to take on board on how to edit shots of videos. I feel I need more time to 'play' around with the 'Final cut' tools.
